A survey of five specialties in 15 large metropolitan markets revealed:

Atlanta's 11.2 days overall average for the 5 specialties was the shortest average wait time
15.5 days for a cardiology appointment
16.8 days for an orthopedic surgery appointment
20.3 days for a family practice appointment
20.5 days overall average for all 5 specialties in the 15 cities
22.1 days for a dermatology appointment
27.5 days for a ob-gyn appointment
Boston's 49.5 days overall average for the 5 specialties was the longest average wait time
