This web site has been set up as a knowledge management database that fairly reflects health care--clearly both art and science. There are two main sources of information--the general content (text and links) and the specific Discussion pages built on interactive super-blog software--Discusware. In contrast to a Wiki, we have moderators; topic and message management tools provide a modicum of control over content.
We use a broad brush approach that considers the patients', the public's and the health care professionals' perspectives and needs. There's also a broad range of contemporaneous, sometimes controversial material ranging from pharmaceutical and other therapeutics to information technology, from ethics to practical issues in frontline medicine (emphasis, but not exclusively Pediatrics, the author's specialty), and to theory and research. Finally, we have tried to separate the more provocative issues in the Discussion section. |
